About the Author
Elena Rover has been editing and writing about
health, fitness, nutrition and other topics for 19
years. Currently, she works as a freelance writer for national magazines and as the editor of www.FindYourDetour.com.
Elena has a biology degree from Barnard College and
a Masters degree from the Columbia University Graduate
School of Journalism. During college, she was on
the Columbia Women’s rowing team. She has tried
every sport in the book, from rock climbing to fencing.
Combining her love of sports with magazine work,
Elena held a position as senior editor for Snow
Country magazine, covering skiing, skating, hiking and other
sports. She has also written for Tennis magazine, was
a contributing editor for Walking magazine and wrote
a training column for Shape magazine for five years.
Elena’s professional credits also include: editorial
director for Reader’s Digest websites, articles
editor for Health magazine, senior health editor for
Ladies’ Home Journal and fitness editor for Self magazine.
Recently, she has held positions as a contributing
editor for More magazine and a columnist for Conceive magazine. Elena started her publishing career at The
New York Times followed by various positions during
the launch year of Food Arts magazine. She has also
written for Real Simple, Life, Glamour, Men’s
Health, Condé Nast Traveler, Prevention, Fitness,
Bride’s, Tennis, American
Health, Natural Health
and others. |
