Team Training

Team Training is the best way for a team to improve its speed, strength, skills and overall success. Programs can be customized to fit a team’s needs with sessions running once per week (basic in-season).

  • Team Training incorporates Athletic Republic's acceleration training with sport-specific skills development for hockey, soccer and basketball, all in a team-focused environment
  • No matter the size, speed, shape or age of your team members, Chelsea Piers BlueStreak can deliver the training your team needs to gain that competitive edge. Your team will see notable increases in confidence, speed, strength, skills and camaraderie.
  • Discounts available for groups of 10 or larger.

Custom training packages can be adjusted for length of season. Includes:

  • Small group training (5:1 players:trainer) focusing on speed, strength, agility and optional skills component.
  • Intensive overspeed training using Super Treadmills and Dartfish video analysis to analyze running/skating stride
  • Strength development using FreeMotion machines and free weights to improve functional strength and balance
  • Sport-specific skills coaching using turf, courts or synthetic ice for enhanced individual ball or puck handling skills

Acceleration

Over the course of your team’s program, athletes begin every session with a dynamic workout, then utilize the Generation III high-speed treadmill (skating treadmill for ice hockey), functional strength equipment, and agility and plyometric training systems. Athletes have the option of a skills component with each session.

Skills

The perfect complement to Acceleration training is our sport-specific skills training. Each session incorporates 30-40 minutes of coached sport-specific drills on our courts, synthetic ice or turf. This portion of each session will improve shooting, ball/puck/stick handling, passing, moves, footwork and hand-to-eye coordination – individual skills not focused on during normal team practices.

To make each member of your team a stronger, faster and more skilled team contributor. Overall, Team Training develops in each athlete a strong work ethic and athletic commitment to succeed in the upcoming season as well as strong bonds with other team members by completing a demanding training program.

Off-Day Homework

BlueStreak provides each team member a packet of short exercises and drills to do on the days when the athletes are not training at BlueStreak or as a team. Each off-day homework workout lasts no longer than 15 minutes but athletes will see vast improvements by implementing these routines.
