Chelsea Piers BlueStreak’s running program is also referred to as the Acceleration program.
The Acceleration program is customizable for athletes based on specific goals and distances.
Distance runners utilize protocols for 3k (2.07 miles) to 10k (6.2 miles) race distances while middle distance track runners train based on the 800m-1500m protocol. Both distance and middle distance protocols have 3 levels of difficulty.
Sprinters with focuses ranging from 100m to 400m utilize a protocol with 5 levels of increasing speed and difficulty.
Acceleration athletes run short bouts on the Athletic Republic-patented running treadmill, which can reach speeds of 28 miles an hour and an incline grade of 40 degrees.
In addition to the treadmill component, the Acceleration program also includes running-specific strength training and plyometric drills.
