Pre-Season Acceleration & Skills

The Acceleration program begins with a pre-test to measure the athlete's current fitness level. The athlete is then matched to the protocol that best suits his or her athletic capabilities.

Speed Training

Short duration/high-intensity sprinting sequences on the Athletic Republic-patented running treadmill simulate game play. Athletes are taught to improve stride mechanics, stride frequency and speed.

Strength Training

Strength exercises are biomechanically specific to football, including muscle movements used in blocking, tackling and defending pass routes.

Plyometric Training

Plyometric training is a very effective form of power training ideally suited to football. Players perform specific plyometric drills for increased coordination, explosive power, vertical jump height, lateral power and rotation, and landing strength.

Skills

Players improve their individual footwork, blocking, tackling and defensive skills by training on BlueStreak's field turf and on the courts at the adjacent Sports Center.
