Acceleration & Skills

The Acceleration & Skills program begins with a pre-test to measure the athlete's current fitness level. The athlete is then matched to the protocol that best suits his or her athletic capabilities.

Speed Training

Short duration/high-intensity sprinting sequences on the Athletic Republic-patented skating treadmill simulate hockey shifts, delivering the most sport-specific conditioning program possible.

Strength Training

Strength training focuses on muscles biomechanically specific to hockey, including muscles used in shooting, passing and goaltending.

Plyometric Training

Hockey players perform specific plyometric drills for increased coordination, explosive power, lateral power and rotation, and landing strength.

Skills

Drills on BlueStreak's synthetic ice Skills Zone focus on stick handling, shooting, off-balance accuracy, soft hands, passing, toe drags, dekes, shooting technique and power, obstacle stick handling, puck control, and goalie skills.
