Kenyan-born Abuto Nyanjong has been playing soccer from the time he could walk. As a member of the Kenya National Youth and Senior Soccer Teams, Abuto had the chance to play and develop his superior foot skills. In college, he played for Manhattanville College for two years and finished at Long Island University. A hard worker both on and off the field, Abuto campaigned across Kenya to raise funds to move to the United States, where he has lived for the past 24 years. Not long afterwards, Abuto was breaking records, and not many people can claim the kinds of records Abuto holds. In 1982 he broke the Guinness World Record in Soccer Ball Juggling and broke his own record in 1988 for a total of over 98,800 touches in 16 hours, 27 minutes and 57 seconds. He also broke his own record in 1990 when he headed the soccer ball non-stop for 5 ½ hours. Invited to demonstrate his skills for a number of media, Abuto appeared in Zurich, Geneva and Neuchatel for Exibition Soccer Juggling and on That’s Incredible in Europe, and was a guest on the David Letterman Show, Nickelodeon TV, Good Day New York and FOX Network TV. Most significantly, Abuto also played for the Vestoras S.C. in Stockholm, Sweden and the Kenyan National Soccer Team from 1993-1998. A soccer coach for Chelsea Piers since 2006, Abuto is excited to take his coaching to the next level at CP BlueStreak.
