After graduating with a B.S. from the University of Maryland where he was a three-year starting captain and four-year letterman for the Terrapins, John played professional football from 2000 to 2006 for teams in the United States (Jacksonville Jaguars, San Francisco 49ers), Spain (Barcelona Dragons-representing the Denver Broncos) and Canada (Toronto Argonauts, Winnipeg Blue Bombers). He was named to the All-World Team after playing in the 2001 World Bowl in NFL Europe and chosen as Toronto’s Rookie of the Year in 2003. In college he was chosen as the team’s Outstanding Lineman of the Year his junior year and was given the Iron Terp award three years in a row for reaching specific off-season goals in strength and training. He was one of three recipients of the Toll Payer Award, given to players who show commitment to excellence in their off-season training programs. A lifelong athlete and results-oriented achiever, John is known for his determination, solid work ethic and strong competitive spirit and stamina. He is excited to be a part of the BlueStreak tradition and looks forward to working with young athletes. |
