The "Reach for the Sky Rink All Stars," Sky Rink's longest running artistic ensemble team has qualified to compete at the U.S. Showcase Competition in Theatrical Skating. The competition will be held from August 1st through August 4th in Hyannis, Massachusetts. The group was inspired by the reality dance show, So You Think You Can Dance, and combines dance, skating, theater, and props to create unique performances designed to entertain. Not only does the team perform at rinks in the tri-state area, they have performed at several prominent parades under their coach Marni Halasa, including the Dance Parade, Coney Island Mermaid Parade, and the Gay Pride Parade. The group will also perform at Sky Rink's annual ISI Competition on Sunday, June 2nd, as well as the Skating Club of New York’s end of year show on June 9th at 10:30am in the East Rink.
