Congratulations to all the skaters that competed
at the Middle Atlantic Championships! This year's competition was held at Sky
Rink from September 15 - 18 and was hosted by the Skating Club of New York.
Sky Rink took home the Pre-Preliminary Team Trophy for the
3rd year in a row. Sky Rink coach Denise Beaumont could not have been more proud
when daughter Alana Resnick won the Open Jevenile category. Great job,
Alana!
Congratulations again and see you all next
year!

The New York Times recently swung
by Chelsea Piers to interview Sky Rink Director of Skating School Wade Corbett
about his experience at Sky Rink.
The 64-year-old first laced up a pair of skates at
the original Sky Rink in midtown when he was 25 years old (and he experienced
quite a fall!). Now, Corbett runs a program for aspiring skaters "age 3 until
death," he says. The youngest skaters in the Sky Rink Skating School are
merely 3 years old, while Corbett's oldest pupil is 64.
Corbett also spends a great deal of time on the ice in the
summer, as he helps run the Ice Skating program in the Chelsea Piers Summer
Sports Camps.
