Dana Thayer, Senior Vice President, Marketing
June 19, 2006

We are proud to welcome Portraits of Hope, an organization that develops inspirational public art projects for children, to Chelsea Piers.  As I’m sure many of you have noticed, The Piers have been adorned with beautiful artwork – from the banners on the East Façade to the panels on History Wall (between Piers 60 and 61) and the biggest piece of all – a fully operational tugboat that has been completely wrapped with various vibrant shapes and colors. The artwork has been created by children from all over New York City, and will be officially unveiled at 10:00am on Wednesday, June 21, at Pier Park on Pier 62.  Please join us for the celebration!

Be sure to check out the beautiful new art installation by Portraits of Hope currently on display on History Wall, on Sunset Strip between Piers 60 and 61.  Children from all over New York City, in hospitals, schools, and after-school programs, did the paintings - each of which is totally unique.  The History Wall panels are part of a complex-wide art program – keep your eyes open for more art in the coming weeks.

The Apprentice to Sky Rink - "You're Hired!"

Ronnie Talerico, Sky Rink General Manager
June 6, 2006

Sky Rink was the star of last night’s Apprentice season five finale!  The Rink, and our dedicated staff, played host to a charity hockey game benefiting the Leary Firefighters Foundation that was filled with celebrity players (from Michael J. Fox to Jason Priestley, Mike Eruzione to John McEnroe) – and run by Apprentice finalist, Lee.  Last night’s show marked the third time that Chelsea Piers was featured on The Apprentice – and we can’t wait to see them back in New York City after season six in Los Angeles.
