High Line Ready for June Opening

Erica Schietinger, Vice President, Corporate Communications
May 25, 2009

The High Line is looking great! The historic tracks, completed in 1934, were originally designed to raise hazardous freight trains off the streets of New York City. Almost 75 years later, New Yorkers will now have a beautiful park in the sky. Next month, the first section of the High Line will open to the public – from Gansevoort Street to 20th Street. For construction updates, announcements and news from the High Line, visit http://blog.thehighline.org.
