Thoughts on the US Open

The US Open started today at Pebble Beach, the scene of one of the most dominating performances ever given in a major championship - the 2000 US Open victory by Tiger Woods by an incredible 15 strokes. Can he repeat? Doubt it, given his turbulent personal life and spotty play of late. However, its probably not a good idea to count out the worlds number one player. My choice, Lee Westwood, breaking the 40-year dry spell of having a European win our national title. There are lots of players with a chance out there, but remember in the Open, you can't win it on the first day, but you certainly can lose it. Will update daily as the tournament progresses.
