The Delta Challenge: A Year-Long Celebration
|
In celebration of its ongoing commitment to the City of New York,
Delta Air Lines and the Sports Center are pairing up to bring all
Sports Center members The Delta Challenge: a Year-Long Celebration.

Delta Challenge #1: "JFK to Barcelona"
On November 1st, the JFK to Barcelona route was unveiled at the
rock wall inaugurating a year-long celebration of Delta
Air Lines' commitment to New York City. The JFK to
Barcelona route, although
very challenging, was completed by 10 of the Sports
Center's top climbers -- congratulations Carissa Ackerman for
completing the challenge and for winning the round-trip
Delta tickets from JFK to Europe. Congratulations are
also in order for the other climbers
who successfully made it to the top of the JFK to Barcelona
route: Joe Eisner, Adam Deaton, Steven Gross, Steven
Phillips, Eric Kubiak,
Craig Berman, Rina Gelfman, Ivona Marcisz and Timmi
Johnstone.
Delta Challenge #2: "JFK to San Francisco"
On December 1st, the "JFK to San Francisco" route was
unveiled at the Sports Center rock wall. Over 100 climbers
attempted the route throughout the course of the month,
and by month's end,
24 had successfully made it to the top. Congratulations
to Gail
Rothschild for winning the tickets, to all who competed,
and to all who successfully made it to the top of the
route -- congratulations

Lawrence, Erik Kubiak, Jeff Bance, Adam Cannon, Anthony

Tabachnik, and Micheal Joseph.
Delta Challenge #3: "JFK to Denver"
On January 1, the Delta Classes Challenge, "JFK to Denver" was
announced to all Sports Center members. 7 classes over 7 days,
all month long. The more classes you took, the more chances you
had to win round-trip Delta Air Line tickets to anywhere in the
continental United States, Canada or the Caribbean. Over 200 people
participated in our month long competition -- congratulations to
Aviad Shemesh for winning the tickets!
Delta Challenge #4: "New York to San Diego"
The February Delta Challenge, "New York to San Diego", was announced
on February 1 and challenged all Sports Center members
and their guests to take as many Delta Challenge
classes – 1
class a day for each day of the week, all month long – as possible.
The more classes you took, the more chances you had
to win round-trip Delta Air Lines tickets to anywhere
in the continental United
States, Canada or the Caribbean. Over 300 people
participated in our month-long competition -- congratulations
to James
Kloiber for winning the tickets!
Delta Challenge #5: "New York to Milan"
In March, the Delta Challenge focused on all the different clubs the Sports Center offers -- The Running Club, the Triathlon Club and the Chelsea Piers Masters Swim Team. Throughout March, members were invited to participate in a number of different Running Club, Triathlon Club and Masters Swim Team classes. Participate in any of the programming and you were entered to win a pair of round-trip Delta tickets to Europe -- congratulations Benjamin Cohen for winning the tickets!
Delta Challenge #6: "New York to Berlin"
Throughout April, Sports Center members were invited to bring
in a guest and participate in a host of partner-related
classes and special events – Friday Night Climbing, Tuesday Night
Running and Thursday Night High Performance Swim, to name a few.
All participants
were entered to win a pair of round-trip Delta Air
Lines tickets to Europe; congratulations Dana Endicott for
winning the tickets.
