Chelsea Piers is the only gymnastics school in New York City that offers USAG competitive teams for boys and girls from beginner through elite. One of the most successful programs in the region, Chelsea Piers consistently places gymnasts in State, Regional and National competitions. GIRLS RECREATIONAL TEAM
September 6 - January 10, 2008
Ages 8-13 years
Using the National High School Gymnastics rules, Girls Recreational Team members prepare for
recreational competition with experienced and supportive teachers. Team members enjoy the
many social benefits of team participation while challenging themselves to learn and grow.
Participants are required to sign up for twice a week.
Children are organized in groups according to gender, age and ability.
Emphasis is placed on the fun of movement as well as the
fundamentals that are the basis for success in all sports.
Girls utilize the balance
beam, uneven bars, vault and floor. All gymnasts use the
tumble tracks, in-ground trampolines and deep foam pits.
A low student/teacher ratio
