Beginner School I / Women's School I

Beginner Golf School is designed for new players who would like to better understand and execute the fundamentals of golf. Taught by one of our talented golf professionals, the school teaches players the fundamentals of the game, including grip, stance, posture and alignment. Basic swing technique with irons and woods, chipping, putting and an introduction to bunker play are also covered. The school utilizes state-of-the-art video analysis, which allows the golf professional to work with each individual participant to help analyze and correct their swing.

Women’s School I is the all-female counterpart to Beginner School I. It is designed to help women learn the game in a comfortable and social environment.

Beginner School II / Women's School II

Beginner School II is a continuation of Beginner School I / Women's School I. This next level is designed to help players build on the fundamentals of the game while improving specific areas of their game through intensive practice drills. State-of-the-art video analysis helps students see the progression of their swing.

Women’s School II is the all-female counterpart to Beginner School II. It is designed to help women improve their game in a comfortable and social environment.

Players School
6:1 Student/Teacher Ratio
Player's School is designed for intermediate golfers who can consistently shoot around or below a 100 and want to improve their golf course play. Players work on lag putting and chipping it close to the hole, approach shots to the green and how to hit the fairway with a driver. Consistency on the golf course is key and in this class players develop a solid pre-shot routine, as well as how to aim each shot. Video analysis is used. Note: Participants in this school should have two years of experience playing on a golf course and a solid understanding of the game.

Head Pro School
3:1 Student/Teacher Ratio
Learn from the best. This 3-week program is taught by our head golf professional, Tom Sutter, who was recognized as the "2004 PGA Metropolitan Area Teacher of the Year." Tom has competed in several PGA Tour events including the U.S. Open. With his playing experience, he will help improve the fundamentals, as well as the competitive side of your game. Consistency is a must when playing golf and Tom will teach you how to assess every situation, avoid bad decisions and play each hole from tee to green. Classes meet 2 hours per week.

Ultimate Weekend School

Devote a weekend to improving your game. This two-day intensive school is designed for all levels of players. With our lowest student to teacher ratio, Golf Academy professionals and players have the opportunity to work individually. Learn which shot you should hit in certain situations and build the confidence you need to execute these shots. This school will improve your scoring ability and shave strokes off your game.

One-Day School

Don't have time to read a book? Buy the Cliff Notes! This one-day, 4-hour school is designed to give players an overview of golf in a shortened time period. This school is ideal for players who are interested in improving their game and prefer an accelerated approach to learning. The school will cover all aspects of the golf game, including long and short game, putting and bunker play. At the end of the day, your golf game fundamentals will be solid.

Short Game School

Private / Semi-Private Lessons
The Golf Academy at Chelsea Piers offers private and semi-private lessons for golfers of all ages and abilities. Lessons are arranged in convenient half-hour or one-hour time blocks to fit around your busy schedule and include state-of-the-art video analysis (semiprivate lessons are only available in one-hour time blocks).

Our talented staff of teaching professionals offer a wide array of talent and personalities giving each golfer the opportunity to find a unique match for his or her learning style and pace. Instructors work with golfers of all levels to improve techniques, strategy and build confident mental attitudes (click here for teaching professionals' bios).

Group Lessons
If you are interested in taking lessons with friends, family or business clients, the Golf Academy offers Group Lessons for threesomes and foursomes of all ages and abilities. Participants receive expert instruction from a member of our talented staff of teaching professionals and lessons include state-of-the-art video analysis.
