Dale Gray, Teaching Professional

Bio of Dale GrayDale, a native of Sydney, Australia, developed his desire to teach while studying under the guidance of well-known teaching pro, Hank Haney, in Dallas, Texas. For more than ten years, Dale worked and trained under Hank Haney, one of the premier teachers in the game of golf and coach to the #1 player in the world, Tiger Woods. As Senior Instructor for Hank Haney, Dale worked closely with Hank and studied his philosophy for many years. Throughout his career, Dale has steadily built a reputation as an instructor, not only to the club level players, but also to touring professionals. Dale has coached both men and women students at all levels, from PGA Tour players to NCAA Division I, II, III college level players to pure beginners. His students have included: eleven-time PGA Tour winner, David Frost, two-time Australian Open Champion, Robert Allenby, and two-time South African Open Champion, Tim Clark. In 2006, Dale joined the Chelsea Piers Golf Academy teaching staff and brings fourteen years of teaching experience at the highest level. In 2008, Dale was named Director of Instruction for the golf academy. In addition to his teaching duties, Dale, hires, trains and oversees all the golf instructors at the Golf Club. "My philosophy as an instructor is to teach my students to become their own best teacher by getting them to understand the flight of the golf ball and how it relates to the swing, with emphasis on swinging the golf club on their own correct plane".

Joshua Myers, Teaching Professional

Bio of Joshua Myers Joshua began his PGA Apprenticeship and teaching career in 2004 at The Golf Club at Chelsea Piers. A native of Southern California and a graduate of San Diego State University, Joshua has spent the last three years as a Master Instructor at The Jim McLean Golf School at PGA West in La Quinta, California, where he has assisted, observed and taught alongside Jim McLean, Jerry Mowlds, Carl Welty, and Jason Carbone. In 2006 he attended and graduated the Hank Haney "Teaching the Teacher" seminar, and in the summer of 2007 worked for Mitchell Spearman as the Director of his Junior Golf Academy, all of who are Top 100 Instructors. Joshua prides himself in customizing a game plan for the specific needs of the individual and enjoys working with players of all levels.

Tom Guy, Teaching Professional

Bio of Tom GuyTom Guy, a UK PGA professional, was qualified at the Belfry and trained with PGA Professional Peter Hammond at Shanklin & Sandown Golf Club on the Isle of Wight. During his training, he gained experience in teaching junior programs including working with the Golf Foundation in his delivery of the Tri-Golf Program. From there Tom moved to Guernsey in the Channel Islands, where he enhanced his teaching skills under PGA Professional Matthew Groves, extending his training of juniors. Tom has been teaching The First Tee Program here at Chelsea Piers since the program started in November 2006. Tom attended level 1 of the Titleist Performance Institute program, a program that allows Tom to give his students advice on how they can improve on their flexibility and mobility for golf. TPI has become a very popular program with PGA TOUR players. Tom was named the 2007 coach of the year at Chelsea piers. Tom also took part in the world long drive championships, and was a regional finalist hitting a long ball of 386 yards. Tom’s golf swing was also used in a national advertising campaign in 2007/8.

Christopher Stoudt, Teaching Professional

Bio of Christopher StoudtChristopher is a graduate of Kutztown University with a B.S. in Business Administration/Management. He is a K-Vest Certified instructor. K-Vest is one of the newest golf Instructional technologies that uses sound to train students to perform the correct swing motion. His key belief in teaching is to make the golf swing as simple as possible. Christopher has worked as a golf professional at Olde Homestead Golf Club in Pennsylvania, Stanton Ridge Golf and Country Club in New Jersey, and in Runaway Bay, Jamaica. He has authored an instructional golf column for a weekly newspaper and his lessons have been written about in More Magazine. Christopher's golf swing has been photographed for FHM and Golf Magazine. He has most recently been interviewed onTelemundo and Cool in your code. In 2007, Christopher attended and graduated from the Hank Haney teaching the teachers seminar.

Greg Moon, Teaching Professional

Bio of Greg MoonGreg Moon comes to Chelsea Piers via Scottsdale Arizona and has been a Teaching Professional for the past 14 years. He started his teaching career with John Jacobs Golf Schools, where he taught throughout the lower 48. Greg then brought his talents to some of the premier resort golf facilities in Arizona such as SunRidge Canyon Golf Club and the Sanctuary Golf Club. From teaching the “first timer” to the accomplished player, Greg believes that the golf swing should not be made to be so complicated and delivers his information in a unique and very easy to understand approach. He has been guided by many of the top teaching professionals of our time and is always on the quest to continue bettering himself for the benefit of the student. Greg has taught corporate clinics for Honeywell, General Motors and has appeared on Dateline NBC. Greg brings a vast wealth of knowledge and professionalism that he looks forward to sharing with golfers at Chelsea Piers.

Jeffrey Anderson, Teaching Professional

Bio of Jeffrey Anderson Jeffrey, a New Jersey native, turned pro in 1999 after a brief amateur career. He then relocated to Orlando, FL, and gained a wide range of experience playing on the Teardrop Tour, NGA Hooters Tour and various other tournaments nationwide. Throughout his professional career he has gained intensive instruction from such pros as Bill Madonna, David Glenz, Brian Mogg and the late Paul Runyan. Jeffrey has returned to the tri-state area to share what he has learned about the game. He combines his playing experience, swing knowledge and ability to speak Spanish to provide quality instruction to a range of students.

James Field, Teaching Professional

Bio of James Field James comes to Chelsea Piers from the UK via Dubai. After graduating from university James spent two years working for a multinational accounting firm but realised his true calling was in the golf industry. Since then, James spent two years working as an equipment specialist for a multinational golf retailer and three seasons with Exsportise, an elite sports camp for children from European countries in conjunction with the Golf Foundation. During his tenure he was promoted from Golf Professional to Director of Golf. James then spent two seasons coordinating and operating the onboard teaching program with Holland America and Celebrity Cruise Lines whilst traveling around the world. These teaching academies were co-sponsored by Nike and V1 Golf offering a verbal, visual and kinaesthetic facility with the use of full swing golf simulators. After leaving ship life, he was offered a position as a representative for Titleist and Ping in Dubai, UAE. Here he ran the custom fitting and tour van program coordinating with the PGA teaching programs for the region. In particular, James worked with the Peter Cowan Academy based at the Emirates Golf Club, home of the European Tours Desert Classic. James has been a member of the European Golf Teachers Federation since 2002, is a certified clubmaker and custom fitter with over five years experience of working with PGA and TOUR professionals from the US, Europe and Asia.
