THE FILA CLASSIC 3-ON-3 BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT
COMES TO THE SPORTS CENTER AT CHELSEA PIERS

Basketball enthusiasts are gearing up for the first ever FILA CLASSIC 3-ON-3 BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT to be held on Saturday, February 28, 1998 at the Sports Center at Chelsea Piers. The FILA CLASSIC is destined to become the city's premier 3- on-3 tournament, attracting the best teams from around the city.

Seventy-five teams will compete in one of three divisions: Competitive, Recreational and Over 35. Teams will compete for over $5,000 in prizes, including Continental Airlines tickets, FILA shoes and apparel, Sports Center memberships and much more. Tip-off will be at 9:00am sharp and teams will compete in a double elimination format. All participants must be at least 18 years of age and may register by calling 212.336.6078 before the February 21, 1998 deadline. The fee is $125 per team and includes a game jersey for each player. You don. t need to be a member of the Sports Center to join in the fun, and fans are welcome! Admittance fee for spectators is $5 for adults and $3 for children ages 12 and under.

The Sports Center at Chelsea Piers, New York City's premier sports and fitness facility, features a 1/4 mile indoor running track, an extensive array of cardio and strength training equipment, a boxing ring, basketball and volleyball courts, the largest indoor rock wall in the Northeast, a pool, Jacuzzi, and is home to the Origins Feel-Good Spa.

The FILA CLASSIC is one of the first major events for which the Sports Center will be open to the general public. So, don't dribble! Shoot on down to the Sports Center at Chelsea Piers and experience the FILA CLASSIC.
