Student athletes can take advantage of the Columbus Day holiday school recess (Monday, October 12, 1998) by attending Basketball and Soccer Clinics for Boys and Girls at the Field House at Chelsea Piers.

The Soccer Clinic will feature instruction on shooting, dribbling, ball control, passing, heading, defense, offense and teamwork. The Basketball Clinic will highlight shooting, rebounding, passing, one-on-one moves, moving without the ball, defense, ball handling and more.

All instructors are Field House staff members or high school coaches. For the Basketball Clinic, grades K-3 meet from 9:00 AM - Noon and grades 4-6 meet from Noon - 3:00 PM. For the Soccer Clinic, grades K-3 meet from 9:00 AM - Noon, grades 4-6 and grades 7-9 from Noon - 3:30 PM.

The cost for the Basketball Clinic is $45. For the Soccer Clinic, the cost is $45 for grades K-3 and $55 for grades 4-6 and 7-9. Spaces are limited, so sign-up now! For more information or to register, please call 212.336.6500 ext. 6576.

The 80,000-sq.-ft. Field House at Chelsea Piers is Manhattan's premier sports facility for children and adults.
