Third Annual History Month at Chelsea Piers

Throughout April, as part of our ongoing commitment to community service, we are welcoming students from public, private and parochial schools, grades 3-5, to a free waterfront history lesson. The interactive class, called "These Thirty Acres," tells the story of the historic Chelsea Piers (and the corner of Chelsea they occupy) following a timeline from 1620 until 1999. Over 700 students and their teachers are participating (and having lots of fun) in this program. Special classes for the general public are offered on Friday, April 16 and Saturday, April 17, 1999 at Noon. Other activities to be announced.

Third Annual Kids' Performing Arts Day

This is definitely the family event of the summer, which last year attracted over 3,500 kids and their families. It's a day filled with performances, workshops and clinics in music, theatre and dance, plus storytellers, face painters and lots of other surprises. Four stages showcase continuous entertainment with special guests from Broadway, Music and Dance. An added attraction will be performances by professional figure skaters on our outdoor artificial ice! Main Plaza and Roller Rinks on Pier 62. Noon-4:00 PM.

The Best Halloween Party in Town!
