On Sunday, January 10, 1999 at 7:00 PM, the Junior National Team of Israel will face-off against the New York City Cyclones Midget Team in an exhibition ice hockey game at Sky Rink at Chelsea Piers.

The Israeli team is comprised of 15 players all under 18 years of age, and is coached by Boris Mindel, former Red Army player, and Simeon Jacubovitch, who previously coached the Soviet Wings. Based at Canada Centre in Metulla, Israel (site of the only full-sized rink in the country), the team is presently on tour and playing exhibition games in preparation for the European Championships, scheduled for the end of February in Sofia, Bulgaria. The team's visit is sponsored by a grant from Maccabi USA.

The team will also be playing the Harlem Rangers at Riverbank State Park on Monday, January 11, 1999 at 6:00 PM, then travel to Montreal for additional games.

The New York City Cyclones Midget Team is one component of the Cyclones Ice Hockey Club which is in residence at Chelsea Piers. There are a total of seven Cyclones teams of all ages and abilities practicing and playing throughout the year at Sky Rink.

Tickets will be on sale at the door the evening of the game. Prices are $25.00 for Preferred Seating, $15.00 for General Admission and $10.00 for students (with ID). All proceeds go to support Israeli ice hockey, tour expenses and equipment.
