PIERS WELCOMES NEW BLOODMOBILE
Fire Commissioner, Firefighters and Others Give
Blood Monday, March 29th
The
New York Blood Center's brand new, state-of-the-art
Bloodmobile will be making its first stop in Manhattan
at Chelsea Piers on Monday, March 29, 1999 at 10:30am.
New York City Fire Commissioner Thomas von Essen, along
with several NYC firefighters, will join New York Blood
Center President Dr. Robert Jones and employees from
Chelsea Piers as the Bloodmobile's very first donors.
This
40-foot bus, painted red, white, and blue, houses five
beds and three privacy units. It will be parked on the
Main Plaza at Chelsea Piers (Pier 62) and donations
will be accepted until 6pm on Monday. The public is
welcome to donate.
