Celebrities Rock the Boat at Chelsea Piers in
EDDIE BAUER-RIVERKEEPER CHALLENGE

Chelsea Piers is proud to welcome the first Eddie Bauer-Riverkeeper Challenge, on April 6, 2000. This series of celebrity kayak races was created to promote appreciation for the sport of kayaking and the waters upon which it depends, teaming environmentally-conscious celebrities with members of the USA Canoe/Kayak team. The international specialty retailer Eddie Bauer® and Riverkeeper teamed up last October. Eddie Bauer has sponsored the USA Canoe/Kayak team for three years. Riverkeeper, founded 33 years ago, has been a leader in the fight to restore today's healthy Hudson River.

Among the celebrities scheduled to race are Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Alec Baldwin, Billy Baldwin, Peter Gallagher, Giancarlo Esposito, Christy Turlington, Bebe Neuwirth, Brian Stokes Mitchell, John Shea, Kate Shindle, Dean Winters, Scott Winters and Michael Park.
