LOWER
SCORES PAR FOR THE COURSE
AT THE GOLF CLUB AT CHELSEA PIERSH
MORE
PGA PROS THAN ANYWHERE IN THE COUNTRY
The
Golf Club at Chelsea Piers has appointed a new Head
Professional, and golfers couldn't be happier with the
choice. Tom Sutter, a PGA Class A teaching professional
since 1984, who had been working at the Golf Club on
and off since it opened in 1996, has now moved into
the job full-time. In addition to being ranked as one
of the top golf instructors in the nation by the Metropolitan
Golf Association, Tom has built an impressive playing
resume which includes victories in the New England and
Long Island Opens, and a strong performance at the United
States Open.
Because
the Golf Club welcomes an enormous number of private
lessons, there has been a concerted effort to attract
only the top teaching professionals. The addition of
Tom Sutter, along with a few other new hires, has turned
the Golf Club's teaching corps into the premier group
of instructors in the tri-state area. Not only are there
four floors of hitting stalls and scenic views of the
Hudson, but area golfers now have access to the some
of the best teachers in the nation. No other golf course
or driving range in the United States can boast of a
roster of 16? PGA teaching professionals.
Manhattan's
only multi-tiered, year-round, outdoor golf driving
range, the Golf Club at Chelsea Piers offers golfers
the unique opportunity to hit full shots, practice putting,
take lessons with top pros, and enjoy the ambiance of
a riverside country club without ever leaving the city.
The Golf Club has 52 heated and weather-protected hitting
stalls on four levels, a computerized automatic ball
tee-up system, and a 200-yard, net-enclosed artificial
turf fairway. The on-site Golf Academy which offers
schools, clinics and private instruction for both accomplished
and novice golfers, features ultra-modern superstations,
a practice sand bunker and a chipping green.
With
lessons available daily from 8 AM until 10 PM, over
1000 students learn new skills and refine old ones at
the Golf Club at Chelsea Piers, working with instructors
individually or in small groups. Because of the wide
array of talent and personalities available to students
of the game, each golfer is able to find a unique match
for his or her learning style and pace.
Head
pro Tom Sutter, and the strong group of teaching professionals
at the Golf Club at Chelsea Piers, now give tri-state
golfers a much better chance of making par.
