The Best Halloween Party in Town!

On Saturday, October 28, 2000 from Noon until 4:00 PM, Chelsea Piers proudly presents the Fifth Anniversary Chelsea Piers Halloween Carnival, a free, fun-filled event for kids of all ages. The carnival will take place on Pier 62, Chelsea Piers, 23rd Street and the Hudson River, New York City.

Last year this event attracted over 12,000 people. Because of that enormous response, and the enthusiastic reception that all Chelsea Piers events are getting from the general public, this year's Halloween Carnival will be bigger and better than ever, and will be held rain or shine! It is anticipated that this year's Carnival will draw between 15,000 and 20,000 people. Especially geared to kids ages 5 to 14, the event features over four dozen carnival games, a preschool gymnastics area, miniature golf, face-painting, our legendary Haunted Ship (with a cast of a dozen "creatures" aboard), and many life-size costumed characters to delight the kids!

We are still putting together the pieces for this year's big show. As of this date, some of the over four dozen games of skill and chance will be run by the Golf Club, Sports Center, Sky Rink, Field House, Roller Rinks and PIER SIXTY as part of a very extensive carnival midway, with some additional games sponsored and run by the Big Apple Circus, Old Navy, Radio Disney, CCM The Hockey Company, Coca-Cola, AMF Chelsea Piers Bowl, Spirit Cruises, Venaca.com, the Puppetry Arts Theatre, New York-Presbyterian Sports Medicine Center, A Christmas Carol at Madison Square Garden, and the Broadway musicals The Music Man, Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King and Aida. Our friends from the Canadian Consulate will also run carnival games.

The day will include our fabulous Costume Parade (last year over 900 kids participated). Medals will be awarded by clowns from the Big Apple Circus. Other activities will include "The Pumpkin Patch," where kids can decorate their own jack o'lanterns, "Dana's Famous Fruit Loop Necklaces," and exciting special performances by the Big Apple Circus, and the internationally renowned singer, Gemma. The day's activities will be hosted by the Glam Queen of Halloween, Deborah Jean Templin.

Everybody receives an Old Navy Halloween 'Trick or Treat' bag on arrival, and kids win something each time they play a carnival game. Fabulous major door prizes (including tickets to New York Giants football, New York Rangers hockey, Broadway and Off-Broadway shows, restaurants, etc.) are given away throughout the event. Lots of great American food will be available for purchase.
