THE
FIELD HOUSE AT CHELSEA PIERS ANNOUNCES
THREE NEW PROGRAMS FOR SPRING
The
Field House at Chelsea Piers, 80,000 square feet
of fun, is offering three new programs for kids this
spring semester-Danza e Musica, teaching the basics
of ballet and modern dance, a Saturday morning Arts
and Crafts class, and Mommy & Me Ballet.
On
February 6, Italian television, theatre, and dance
personality Ornella Fada will begin Danza e Musica,
a fun and creative class that teaches children the
basics of ballet and modern dance. In this delightful
class, children play character roles, sing and dance
on sets they design and create themselves. Through
the imaginative use of songs, poems, stories, games,
dramatic arts and movement, children will also develop
comprehension and appreciation of basic Italian vocabulary
in a festive atmosphere.
Beginning
February 3, Arts and Crafts taught by Debroah Johanson,
will allow children's imagination to soar to new
and exciting heights as they create puppets, sponge
flowers, windmills, sun mobiles, greeting cards,
scratch art and more! Spaces are limited. Register
your child now for this fun and educational 16-week
Saturday morning program for the Spring Semester.
Mommy & Me
Ballet, taught by Courtney Kern, is created especially
for children ages 24-36 months and their parents
or caregivers. The session began on January 22, 2001
but registrations will be accepted through the twelfth
week of classes. Mommy & Me Ballet teaches children
movement, coordination and understanding of basic
rhythmic patterns.
