PIERS presents HOLIDAY ON THE HUDSON
SPECTACULAR FREE ANNUAL ICE SHOW WITH LIVE SINGERS
New
York City's Best On-Ice Holiday Event
Stars World, Olympic and U.S. Skating Champions!
On Friday, December 14, 2001 at 7:00 PM at Sky Rink
(Pier 61), Chelsea Piers will present the Fifth Edition
of HOLIDAY ON THE HUDSON, an evening of figure skating
performances and holiday music. One of a continuing
series of free events, HOLIDAY ON THE HUDSON is Chelsea
Piers' holiday gift to the city. It is expected to play
to a capacity audience of 1,600. Presenting Sponsor
is The Dime Savings Bank.
Starring in the evening's performance will be World
and Olympic Champion, Lu Chen; three-time (and current)
U.S. Ice Dance Gold Medalists, Naomi Lang & Peter
Tchernyshev; 2001 U.S. Ice Dance Bronze Medalists, Jessica
Joseph & Brandon Forsyth; one of New York City's
favorite singers Sidney J. Burgoyne; internationally-acclaimed
Irish vocalist Mairead; figure skating dynamo Greg Wittrock;
and members of the renowned Ice Theatre of New York.
Featured in the performance will be young Sky Rink skating
whiz, Jeremy Anderson; along with the Sky Rink Professional
Staff and Young Stars; and musical group, Deborah Jean
Templin & The Hollytones. Naturally, Mr. S. Claus
from Up North and Rudolph will make their traditional
appearances.
Additional skaters are still to be added to the program.
Musical Director is Carl Danielsen. The show is produced
and directed for Chelsea Piers by Jack W. Batman.
This is a free event, but because of space limitations
in the arena, tickets are required. Tickets must be
picked up in person at Ruthy's Bakery Café on
the Main Plaza at Chelsea Piers (Pier 62), beginning
November 23, 2001. Limit 2 tickets per person. Ticket
holders are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped toy
to support the Marine Corps Reserve holiday program,
Toys For Tots. Immediately following the performance,
there will be complimentary open skating for all ticket
holders.
