WELCOMES IRONMAN CHRIS BERGLAND TO STAFF
World Famous Ironman Joins
Staff to Run Triathlon Programming
(New
York, NY – February 19, 2003) – The Sports
Center at Chelsea Piers is pleased to announce triathlete
Christopher Bergland has joined the staff. Bergland,
a charter member of the Sports Center, will serve
as the program coordinator for the Chelsea Piers
Triathlon Club (CPTC).
Bergland's impressive triathlon and ultra-triathlon
career began in 1995. Chris has competed in over fifteen
regular Ironman distance races, 4 Hawaii Ironman World
Championships, and has won the last three consecutive
Triple Ironman (7.2 mile swim/336 mile bike/78.6 mile
run) Odyssey Challenges.
Bergland will oversee the monthly CPTC meetings, organize
monthly endurance challenges, run seminars/clinics
and invite in guest speakers with specific expertise
in the field. Bergland will also create personalized
triathlon programs for members and will be available
for one-on-one training sessions.

experience and success in triathlon and ultra triathlon
training and racing is invaluable to members hoping
