CHELSEA PIERS
INTRODUCES NEW PIER TO PEER SCAVENGER HUNT
TEAM BUILDING
EXERCISE DEVELOPED TO CHALLENGE THE MIND
((New
York, NY – June 26, 2003) – Building
on its extremely popular corporate team building
program, Chelsea Piers unveils its newest program
this month, Pier to Peer Scavenger Hunt. Developed
in response to companies requesting non-traditional
team building activities, Pier to Peer Scavenger
Hunt encourages team members to work together to
earn the greatest number of points while creatively
solving clues about the historic Chelsea Piers. Although
all the answers may be found at Chelsea Piers, teams
must move quickly because they only have a limited
time to explore the 30-acre sports village.
Pier to Peer Scavenger Hunt is unique in concept and
location. No other team building program has such an
expansive facility to use as a tool. Chelsea Piers
is so comprehensive that companies can start in a traditional
meeting room at the Piers, participate in Pier to Peer
Scavenger Hunt and then end with a catered lunch or
boat ride around Manhattan - all without leaving the
complex.
“We are very excited to introduce Pier to Peer
Scavenger Hunt,” commented Mollie Marcoux, First
Vice President of Strategic Planning and Business Development
at Chelsea Piers. “It is very different from
the traditional idea of team building and the facility
here at Chelsea Piers affords us the unique opportunity
to create this kind of program.”
In addition to Pier to Peer Scavenger Hunt, the Chelsea
Piers team building program also includes Mini-Olympics
Games and Experiential Games. Mini-Olympic Games, for
the sports orientated, requires employees to organize
teams and compete in sports such as basketball, rock
climbing and sand volleyball. Experiential Games, geared
towards problem solving with some physical and/or mental
challenge, include popular games like River Rapids,
Trust Walk and Spider Web. All three team building
formats offer companies and groups a custom-designed
program that focuses on the leadership and team skills
essential to any successful organization.
