CHELSEA PIERS OPENS
CHILD CARE CENTER
(New York, NY – January 13, 2005) – The
Field House at Chelsea Piers announces the opening
of the CP Kids Child Care Center. The facility features
four large, bright classrooms and nurseries for children
ages three months to three years. Led by experienced
teachers, the center is dedicated to helping children
grow intellectually, emotionally, physically and socially.
“The philosophy of CP Kids is that children
learn best through active participation with their
environment. At CP Kids, children will develop a love
of learning and exercise,” explains Child Care
Director, Nicole James, M.E.
For parents who need full-day child care, the center
is open from 8:00am-6:00pm, Monday through Friday.
For those parents looking for part-time child care
and/or a nursery school program, the Child Care Center
offers both a morning and an afternoon program three
to five days a week. Children are placed in small
groups that spend the whole day together. Home base
for children in the full-day and half-day programs
is in the new state-of-the-art Child Care Center.
Children take field trips to the Field House’s
indoor playing fields, Toddler Adventure Center, the
new “Fit 4 Tots” gymnastics center and
outdoor Pier Park.
Chelsea Piers will open a full-day preschool in
September 2005.
About the Field House
The 80,000-square-foot Field House at Chelsea Piers opened in 1995. Its
athletic facilities and children’s programs are unrivaled by
any other venue in the city. The gymnastics center is the only gymnastics
facility in New York City sanctioned for competition by USA Gymnastics.
Two hardwood basketball courts and two artificial–turf playing
fields are used for sports clinics and leagues for children and adults.
Drop-in activities include the Toddler Adventure Center, batting cages,
open gym/open climb, basketball and soccer. The Field House recently
opened a Child Care center and offers classes for children six months
and older. Also available are birthday parties, dance, martial arts,
and corporate team building activities.
