CP KID FITNESS CENTER TO OFFER
NEW FUN FIT CLASS
"Fun Fit" Class Focuses on Cardio,
Weight Training and Rock Climbing for Ages 5-12
(New York, NY - January 26, 2005) - Today, children
are at high risk of becoming more sedentary, overweight and less
physically fit. The Field House at Chelsea Piers has created a
new Fun Fit class designed to help combat these problems. This
brand new 90-minute class utilizes kid-friendly muscle toning and
cardio equipment to both encourage and motivate children, while
introducing them to innovative and fun new ways to exercise. This
class, ideal for developing active children, combines strength,
cardio, flexibility and rock climbing activities that form a firm
foundation for future physical fitness.
"We are thrilled to add the new fitness classes and fitness machines
to our program offering here at the Field House," commented Peter
Kormann, Director of Gymnastics. "Not every child will want to
participate in competitive sports. This class gives them another
outlet. Additionally, this is the age, 5-12 years old, when life-long
habits are formed. A child who is taught about fitness early will
have a better chance of becoming an adult who cares about fitness."
The CP Kids Fitness Center at Chelsea Piers features the state-of-the-art
Panatta Kid System, fitness and cardio equipment designed specifically
for children. Panatta equipment enhances muscle tone and cardio
fitness in a safe, exciting and fun environment. The equipment
includes leg press, shoulder press, lat pull down and chest press
machines as well as spin bikes. In addition to being used by recreational
and team gymnasts, the CP Kids Fitness Center will host a brand
new class, Fun Fit, which starts on January 31.
