Chelsea Piers Announces CP FIT
Initiative
Public Fitness Events, Nutrition
and Fitness Tips and More
Part of 10th Anniversary Celebration
(New York, NY - April 22, 2005) - As Chelsea
Piers enters its tenth year, it is proud to announce the creation
of the CP FIT Initiative. Recognizing that Americans and New Yorkers
are experiencing the harmful effects of high rates of obesity and
inactivity in record numbers, the CP FIT Initiative strives to
support and encourage healthy, active lifestyles.
"The CP FIT initiative is a way for Chelsea Piers to help
address the challenge of childhood obesity and to promote the value
of being physically fit and active," noted Dana B. Thayer,
Senior Vice President of Chelsea Piers. "While Chelsea Piers
is known for its wide range of recreational sports activities,
ultimately Chelsea Piers is about living a healthy, active lifestyle."
To this end, Chelsea Piers will present a monthly series of fitness
and nutrition tips available to the public on Sunset Strip and
in each venue starting in April. Chelsea Piers expert coaches,
instructors and personal trainers have collaborated to generate
the CP Fitness Tips, which will provide user-friendly exercises
perfect for busy Chelsea Piers customers to do at home or on the
go. In addition to the Fitness Tip, Chelsea Piers nutritionists
have produced a monthly Nutrition Tip for Chelsea Piers customers.
Nutrition Tips will include advice on how to stay healthy, and
recipes that are easy to make and full of nutritious and delicious
ingredients.
