CHELSEA PIERS FIELD HOUSE
LAUNCHES K.I.D.S.S.
AN INDIVIDUAL-DEVELOPMENT SPORT
SERIES FOR CHILDREN
(New York, NY - September 21, 2005) – As part of a continuing
effort to keep New York’s kids active and healthy, the Field
House at Chelsea Piers is launching a new fitness initiative for
children. The Kid’s Individual-Development Sport Series,
or K.I.D.S.S., is a grouping of Field House classes that are specially
designed for children who want challenging individual physical
activities and structured skill development. The classes are fun,
interactive, and action-packed without focusing on traditional
team sports.
“The K.I.D.S.S. program is the perfect way for children
to experience all sorts of exciting activities without the pressure
of team sport participation,” commented Jack Hyman, Director
of Youth Fitness at the Field House. “The variety of class
offerings at Chelsea Piers help to keep every child active. We
want to help meet the fitness goals of every child - whether it’s
to stay in shape, to lose some weight, to get stronger, or to just
have some fun!”
K.I.D.D.S. classes, which are designed are for children ages 5
to 13, include Field House favorites like Sports Adventure and
Fun Fit, and newcomers Powerjitsu, Juggling and Play Ball. And,
