CHELSEA PIERS DONATES
MORE THAN 100 COMPUTERS TO
NEIGHBORHOOD SCHOOLS AND COMMUNITY GROUPS

New York, NY (May 1, 2007) – Chelsea Piers, the 28-acre sports and entertainment complex regarded as Manhattan’s ultimate West-side playground, donated more than 100 computers to local area charities and schools.

"We decided it was time to upgrade our computers to get increases in speed and functionality, but the computers we had been working on were still more than adequate for basic computing needs," commented Vice President and Director of IT, Ferdinand Lleshanaku.

Groups that received the computers include the Museum School, the Guardian Angel School, Covenant House, George Washington High School, and the Fulton and Chelsea Elliott Houses.  The Museum School and Guardian Angel School used the computers to create computer centers for the students.  Covenant House and the Fulton House also developed centers where neighborhood children could more easily get online.
