CHELSEA PIERS GOLF CLUB TEACHING PROFESSIONAL,
TOM SUTTER, TO COMPETE IN THE SENIOR US OPEN

New York, NY (June 18, 2007) - Tom Sutter, a veteran golfer and teaching professional at the Chelsea Piers Golf Club, won the sectional qualifying tournament for the Senior US Open on Monday, June 11, 2007. Tom's score of 71 at the Woodway Country Club in Darien, Connecticut, earned him first place out of 92 amateur and professional competitors. Fifty-one year-old Sutter is one of three sectional qualifiers for this year's Senior US Open to be held at Whistlin Straits in Kohler, Wisconsin, July 5th through 8th.

Tom has been teaching at Chelsea Piers Golf Club since it opened in 1996. Greta Wagner, Golf Club General Manager, is thrilled for Tom and admires his success both as a player and a teacher, commenting that, "He's a true asset to the program here and we're proud to have him as part of our team." In fact, Tom has been named one of Golf Range Magazine's Top 50 Teachers for three consecutive years. Tom has become quite adept at balancing teaching with his competitive pursuits, having competed in the US Open, the Australian Open, the South African Open, and the Westchester Buick Classic.
