CHELSEA PIERS BLUESTREAK TAKES GOLFERS TO THE NEXT LEVEL
(New York, NY— March 17, 2008) – Chelsea Piers today launched the Chelsea Piers BlueStreak Conditioning Golf Program, a new golf-specific addition to BlueStreak’s programming. This new program aims to produce a stronger swing, increase endurance and provide more flexibility for overall improvement and consistency on the links.
According to Shane Palahicky, Chelsea Piers BlueStreak Program Director, "A lot of people do not realize how important strength and endurance are to a golf game. When you are hitting between 80 and 100 shots over the course of 4 hours, you can become drained, both physically and mentally.” By working on endurance, hip strength, rotational core power and overall flexibility, the program improves consistency and decreases fatigue on the golf course. Shane commented, “We are very excited to bring this program to the Chelsea Piers community and know that it will get the golfers in the best shape of their lives."
The comprehensive 10-week program combines biweekly BlueStreak Acceleration Training sessions with weekly one-hour private golf lessons. John Hobbins, Class A Teaching Professional at the Golf Club at Chelsea Piers and a 26-year member of the PGA of America, teaches the instructional golf component of the Chelsea Piers BlueStreak Conditioning Golf Program. John understands the benefits of the program, having already taken more than 30 sessions of BlueStreak training, an average of 2 sessions a week. Hobbins notes, “I can now practice longer periods of time and maintain certain positions throughout the swing that I was unable to do before I began training at BlueStreak.”
The Chelsea Piers BlueStreak Conditioning Golf Program is available for $2,275, including 20 sessions at BlueStreak and 10 private golf lessons. The biweekly 90-minute BlueStreak component of the program is available either Mondays and Wednesdays or Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8pm. The program has a very limited capacity; interested clients are encouraged to reserve space today.
