CHELSEA PIERS GOLF CLUB TEACHING PROFESSIONAL
NAMED ONE OF NORTH AMERICA’S TOP INSTRUCTORS
(New York, NY— October 6, 2008) – Allan Renz, teaching professional and Director of Schools at the Chelsea Piers Golf Club, was named to Golf Range Magazine’s prestigious list of North America’s top 50 instructors. As the Golf Club’s Instructor of the Year for the past four years and 2005 Chelsea Piers Coach of the Year, Allan has made invaluable contributions to the Golf Club’s teaching academy, developing programs and leading the teaching professionals with more than 2000 hours of teaching a year for the past nine years.
Allan has been teaching at the Chelsea Piers Golf Club since 1998. Greta Wagner, Golf Club General Manager, is thrilled for Allan, commenting that, “He’s a true asset to the program here and we’re proud to have him as part of our team.”
Allan was the only teacher from New York State named to the list and one of three from the tri-state area.
About Allan Renz
Allan became a Teaching Professional in 1992 after a successful Wall Street career. He has studied and worked under Top 100 Teachers David Leadbetter, Peter Croker and Mitchell Spearman. Most recently, he studied the short game (putting) with Harold Swash, Geoff Mangum and Todd Sones. Allan is a member of the European Golf Teachers Federation, is certified by Harold Swash’s School of Putting Excellence and the PuttingZone organization, and holds advanced degrees from New York University and Fordham University. In addition to being an accomplished instructor, Allan has been involved in other areas of golf, having owned a driving range and a golf course. Allan is also a regular contributor on the Golf Show with Mike Missanelli heard on ESPN 1050AM on Sunday mornings.
