David A. Tewksbury, 43, is Co-Founder
and Executive Vice President of Chelsea Piers Management,
which developed and operates the Chelsea Piers Sports
and Entertainment Complex in New York City. Chelsea
Piers, a 1.7-million-square-foot waterfront destination,
is widely recognized as the premier sports and recreation
facility in the world. In 2004 Chelsea Piers, with
over 4.0 million visitors, was one of the most visited
sites in New York City.
Mr. Tewksbury started his career in New York working
for Cushman and Wakefield, Inc., an international commercial
real estate services firm. Starting with an entry level
position, Mr. Tewksbury quickly rose to become one
of the youngest Directors ever appointed at the company.
During his ten years at Cushman and Wakefield, Mr.
Tewksbury was consistently recognized as one of the
company’s top leasing brokers in the country.
Mr. Tewksbury serves as a trustee for several not-for-profit
organizations in New York, including; Friends of Hudson
River Park, Association for a Better New York and The
Cathedral School. Additionally, Mr. Tewksbury helped
found, and now serves as President, of the Sky Rink
Youth Scholarship Fund. Founded in 1994, the Sky Rink
Youth Scholarship Fund provides over financial assistance
to children in New York City who wish to pursue their
dream of figure skating or playing youth hockey.
Mr. Tewksbury graduated from Yale University in 1983
with a B.A. in Economics. Mr. Tewksbury is married
to Linda Raia Tewksbury, M.D., a doctor of pediatric
medicine and a member of the faculty of New York University
Medical Center. They reside in New York City with their
three daughters.
