Chelsea Piers’ Sports Center features Manhattan's largest and most comprehensive facility for strength training workouts. The expansive weight deck – with walls of windows overlooking the Hudson River – features the latest Cybex, Nautilus, Hammer Strength, Life Fitness, FreeMotion and Precor weight training equipment, as well as free weights, dumbbells and the ever popular Kettlebells. You’ll never feel crowded on our 14,000-square-foot strength training deck, which also features a spacious area for stretching and other exercises. A professional staff of over 40 certified personal trainers is available to help you develop a safe and effective strength training workout program that addresses all of your specific fitness or athletic goals.

  • Getting Started with Strength Training: Gym 101

    Are you intimidated by the machines and weights on the strength deck? We’re here to help you find your strength training comfort zone. Learn how to use all the weight machines in the cardio area and on the strength deck in Gym 101. The class is taught by certified personal trainers and is free to all members. Check out the announcements board for dates and times.

  • Circuit Weight Training

    The weight training equipment on the Strength Deck is grouped for circuit training, helping you to streamline your strength training workout program and make the best use of your time. With hundreds of pieces of strength training equipment to choose from, you’ll rarely have to wait during your workout at the Sports Center.

  • Cardiovascular Training

    Warm up or cool down before and after your strength training workout – there are a wide range of cardiovascular exercise machines available on the Strength Training Deck, including treadmills, bikes, Stairmasters, elliptical machines, rowing machines and more.   • Personal Strength Training

    The Sports Center has 40+ certified personal trainers available to assist you in developing the perfect strength training workout routine for your needs and interests.
