NY1's Adam Balkin visited the Sports Center recently to take the XDream bikes for a spin. Adam writes, "Exercise bikes that weave in video games aren't entirely new. But what
makes this one a bit different though is that you can actually compete
against the guy or gal next to you for a little added motivation."

Climbing, swinging, and having fun is something that kids
inherently do; at some point in time, while growing up, we lose that
skill. As adults it's important that we use our bodies the way they were
designed. We can wake our bodies back up by returning to things we enjoyed long
ago. Not only is it fun, and challenging, but it’s also fit for the
kid at heart. Dynamic movement is something we just can't get on our
ordinary equipment.
This week marks the grand opening of our newest piece of
equipment: the Jungle Gym. It’s easy to use, can help you experience those much
needed deep burns, and, most importantly, it’s a ton of fun.
What initially seems like an advanced set of monkey bars is
equipped with a climbing rope, Olympic rings, pull-up bars, resistance bands
and more. The beauty of the Jungle Gym is that it’s extremely versatile, and
can be used for a variety of different workouts and group classes. It provides you with that full body workout
you’ve been looking for from one piece of equipment.
Always remember: safety first, and the Jungle Gym is
only to be used with a spotter. If you
do not know how to properly spot for this piece of equipment, please visit the
Fitness Desk so one of our personal trainers can help.

A farm tool and parachute webbing have changed what may have been a

in the gym are like anywhere else: our knowledge and the assets we use
to achieve our goals. What started as a farm tool in the early 1900s,
Kettlebells became resistance tool of choice for weightlifters in
Russia.
