Try a New Sport
Today, more kids play sports than ever before, and that has never been more evident than at Chelsea Piers.
We'd like to invite your children to a Youth Tennis Open House at the Sports Center.
Sunday, April 10 from 10:30am to 12:00pm. Please email sportscenter@chelseapiers.com to reserve a spot in advance.
With kid-sized court measurements and properly-sized equipment,
Quickstart Tennis is the newest teaching initiative from the USTA,
revolutionizing the way kids learn the game. QuickStart is designed
specifically for kids ages 10 and under and includes drills that improve
hand-eye coordination, agility, balance, footwork and reaction times.
Taught by John Curtis, one of the premier tennis coaches
in New York, your kids will learn from the best. As the former Head Coach of the men's tennis team at NYU, his ten
years there produced nine winning seasons, six All-Americans and one NCAA
Division III National Champion.
Please have your children wear comfortable clothing. All equipment is provided.

Try a New Sport
Did you make a resolution to improve your fitness
in 2011? Looking for a little inspiration to get moving? Here are five great
reasons to get in the best shape of your life this year!
1. ENERGIZE - Having a hard time getting to the gym
because you're feeling sluggish and tired? Well, guess what--exercising GIVES
you energy. So, head to the gym when you're in need of a physical and
mental boost.
2. FEEL BETTER ABOUT YOURSELF - Ask anyone who exercises
regularly (or at all)--it makes you feel better! Plus, what could possibly feel
better than the sense of accomplishment you feel when you reach or beat a
personal goal?
3. TRY A NEW SPORT - "Exercising" doesn't have to mean
hours of cardio on a treadmill or elliptical. If the traditional "gym scene"
isn't for you, try out a new sport this year. Go for a few rounds in the boxing
ring, try a boot camp, grab some friends for a few games of hoops or scale a
Rock Wall Spiderman-style!
4. WORK MUSCLES YOU NEVER KNEW EXISTED - Staying fit means
keeping your entire body fit, not just certain parts that you work often. Sign
up for training sessions with one of our personal trainers, and you'll be sure
to work it all!
5. STAY HEALTHY - Hey, that's the overall goal, isn't it?
Do this for yourself--here's to reaching all of your fitness goals in
2011!
