Our limitations in the gym are like anywhere else: our knowledge and the assets we use to achieve our goals. What started as a farm tool in the early 1900s, Kettlebells became resistance tool of choice for weightlifters in Russia. It was and is still widely used. TRX or Total Resistance Exercise began as a part of a parachute’s webbing. It was and still is used to help achieve operational readiness for military forces.
Kettlebells and the TRX use more muscles to accomplish a movement or exercise. This challenges the muscles to demand more energy and burn more calories. While they both train the body, increase calories burned and oxygen demanded while exercising the working muscles tend toward being lean and strong rather than big and bulky. Your heart rate will be elevated and your muscles stretched and strengthened in the same session. Kettlebells and the TRX provide us at Chelsea Piers two added resources to aid you in achieving your weight loss or cardiovascular goals during the same hour session. If you’re looking to upgrade your program or just need a challenging change of pace, try the TRX and Kettlebell circuit. This fad will make you fit guaranteed.
