Application
The Chelsea Piers Scholarship Fund (CPSF) evaluates applications three times a year; Fall youth class semester, Spring youth class semester, and the 11-week summer camp semester. CPSF operates on a Rolling Admissions basis. Only the FIRST 80-100 completed applications are reviewed. For the youth class semesters, only the first 80 completed applications will be considered. For the Summer Camp, only the first 100 completed applications are reviewed. Once this number of applications has been received, additional applications will be placed on a waiting list.

Families interested in applying for a scholarship to any program must complete the Chelsea Piers Scholarship Fund application below. It is important that the directions outlined on the application are followed carefully and that all sections are filled out completely. Incomplete applications will not be accepted and the following documents must be provided:
- Completed copy of the Chelsea Piers Scholarship Fund written application page. All applicants must provide an email address. Please print your email CLEARLY. We will not be responsible for misspelled information.
- A Parent Statement. Please include if you've suffered any loss of income directly related to the effects of COVID-19.
- Participant/Child Statement for all children 7 years and older applying for scholarship.
- Copy of child's most recent School Report Card. Children under 5 years are exempt.
- Proof of income from prior tax year (2019)
- First two pages of signed 1040 tax form(s) from prior year for all adults who supported child financially. Child(ren) must be claimed as a dependent. OR
- Government issued letter or receipt of Public Assistance or Food Stamps. Child(ren) and parent names must be stated on document.
- Proof of income from two years prior (2018)
- First two pages of signed 1040 tax form(s) from two years prior for all adults who supported child financially. Child(ren) must be claimed as a dependent. OR
- Government issued letter or receipt of Public Assistance or Food Stamps. Child(ren) and parent names must be stated on document.
- Validation of employer from prior tax year (2019)
- All W-2 forms from prior tax year. OR
- Government issued letter or receipt of Unemployment. Must be dated from prior tax year. OR
- If you are self-employed, you must submit the first two pages of your C or CEZ, business income/loss form from your 1040 tax form from prior tax year.
- Validation of employer from two years prior (2018)
- All W-2 forms from two years prior. OR
- Government issued letter or receipt of Unemployment. Must be dated from two years prior. OR

- A copy of Rental receipt OR mortgage statement reflecting monthly housing expenses for current year (2020).
The Scholarship Fund Board of Directors will review and make final decisions on all applications. The Scholarship Fund is a private organization that reserves the right to rescind any decision made and to revoke any scholarship offered. Scholarship recipients must demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence and must meet and exceed the behavioral and attendance standards established by the director of his/her program in order to maintain his/her scholarship. Scholarships are awarded based on a number of criteria, including but not limited to: available grant money, financial need, thoroughness of application, applicant's demonstrated commitment to the program and behavior in school or at previous Chelsea Piers programs. Absences are also taken into consideration and we strongly advise that parents notify staff members of absences in advance.
