Chelsea Piers Fitness Updates

During our closure due to COVID-19, our staff has been hard at work preparing all of our sports and fitness spaces for your return. The health and safety of our community drives all that we do — now, more than ever.

This page is designated to provide our community the information and resources they will need to return to the club. Please check back regularly for updates.

Until further notice, members are required to make a 90-minute Open Workout Session Reservation in the app, or online, prior to visiting the club.

See below for up-to-date information on what's available at your home club.

Please note: Our hours of operation will be temporarily adjusted at both clubs during this reopening phase. View the current club hours here.

Social Distancing

Safety-First Commitment

We are strictly enforcing the following Safety-First Commitment at Chelsea Piers so that each of us can do our part to maintain the lowest-risk environment for all.

Prior to returning to the club, all members of our community must sign a one-time Social Responsibility Agreement. Sign yours now!

We ask our community to:

Complete a Daily Health Declaration prior to each visit to Chelsea Piers. Members will receive this form via email three hours prior to their scheduled reservation.
Maintain a minimum of 6 feet between yourself and others at all times.
Per CDC guidelines, until further notice all visitors must wear protective face coverings. Please note, bandanas, buffs and gaiters are not acceptable face coverings for use in gyms and fitness centers according to New York reopening guidelines.
Wash hands thoroughly, or use hand sanitizer, before and after using equipment or touching surfaces.
Wipe down equipment and high-touch surfaces before and after every use.

Chelsea Piers commits to:

Reduce capacities within our venues and adjust our facility set-ups to increase distance amongst our members, customers and staff.
Assess the health of all members of our community upon entering our facilities with a temperature check.
Provide our community with the supplies they need to do their part, including readily available hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes.
Clean and disinfect our facilities following our strict cleaning protocol.
Cleaning Protocol

Cleaning Protocol

We understand how important the cleaning and disinfecting of our spaces is during this time. Below is an outline of our daily cleaning protocol for every Chelsea Piers venue.

We are using all EPA certified cleaners and disinfectants.
  1. Our spaces are cleaned and all shared equipment disinfected after every class and program.
  2. All high-touch surfaces are disinfected regularly throughout the day.
Disinfectant wipe stations have been placed at least every 75 ft. throughout our facilities.
Touchless hand sanitizing stations have been placed throughout all facilities.

Enhanced Air and Surface Purification

We've taken safety measures beyond what you can see, to include our ventilation systems.

Check-in Procedures

For the time being, your check-in experience will be modified to ensure we are fostering the safest environment possible. Thank you for your patience and for committing to these processes with us.

All members must make a reservation via the app prior to visiting the club.
Every person arriving to a Chelsea Piers facility will have their temperature checked before entering.
Protective face coverings will be required for entry into any Chelsea Piers facility
Capacities for each facility will be determined by state and local government mandates as well as CDC guidelines.
Individual facilities may have specific check-in protocol in place. Please check back regularly for individual venue details as we approach reopening.
Staff Safety

Because the safety of our staff and our community as a whole is of utmost importance, the following staff safety protocol will be in place until further notice.

We have put all of our front-line staff through re-training with a focus on sanitization and disinfection.
All staff will wear masks throughout their shifts.
Front-line and housekeeping staff will wear gloves that are changed often.
Plexiglass partitions are now installed at all front desks and information stations.
Staff that can continue to work from home will do so and in-person shifts will be staggered to limit contact and help reduce facility capacity.
All staff will complete a Daily Health Declatration and have their temperature taken before starting their shift.
