Safety-First Commitment

Chelsea Piers
Safety-First Commitment
During our closure due to COVID-19, our staff has been hard at work preparing all of our sports and fitness spaces for your return. The health and safety of our community drives all that we do — now, more than ever.

Safety-First Commitment
We are strictly enforcing the following Safety-First Commitment at Chelsea Piers so that each of us can do our part to maintain the lowest-risk environment for all.
We ask our community to: |
Perform a health self-assessment prior to each visit to Chelsea Piers (the Daily Health Declaration, or DHD). |
Maintain a minimum of 6 feet between yourself and others at all times. |
Per CDC guidelines, until further notice all visitors must wear protective face coverings. |
Wash hands thoroughly, or use hand sanitizer, before and after using equipment or touching surfaces. |
Wipe down equipment and high-touch surfaces before and after every use. |
Chelsea Piers commits to: |
Reduce capacities within our venues and adjust our facility set-ups to increase distance amongst our members, customers and staff. |
Assess the health of all members of our community upon entering our facilities with a temperature check. |
Provide our community with the supplies they need to do their part, including readily available hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes. |
Clean and disinfect our facilities following our strict cleaning protocol. |

Cleaning Protocol
We understand how important the cleaning and disinfecting of our spaces is during this time. Below is an outline of our daily cleaning protocol for every Chelsea Piers venue.
We are using all EPA certified cleaners and disinfectants.

CHECK-IN PROCEDURES
For the time being, your check-in experience will be modified to ensure we are fostering the safest environment possible. Thank you for your patience and for committing to these processes with us.
Every person checking into a Chelsea Piers venue will have to complete a Daily Health Declaration online before each visit to confirm they do not have a fever over 100 F, are not experiencing symptoms of COVID-19, nor have they come in contact with someone who is experiencing symptoms. If under age 18, a legal guardian will need to sign the Health Declaration for their child. |
Protective face coverings are required for entry into any Chelsea Piers sports or fitness venue. |
Capacities for each venue will be determined by state and local government mandates as well as CDC guidelines. |
Practice social distancing of 6 feet in all areas of Chelsea Piers including all check-in areas. |
If you have traveled to a state or country on the New York State Travel Advisory, you may not enter a Chelsea Piers venue until you have fulfilled the testing requirements. Click here to learn more. |
Individual facilities may have specific check-in procedures in place. Please visit your sports or fitness venue for specific protocols that may be in place prior to arriving. |

STAFF SAFETY
Because the safety of our staff and our community as a whole is of utmost importance, the following staff safety protocol will be in place until further notice.
We have put all of our front-line staff through re-training with a focus on sanitization and disinfection. |
All staff will wear masks throughout their shifts. |
Front-line and housekeeping staff will wear gloves that are changed often. |
Plexiglass partitions are now installed at all front desks and information stations. |
Staff that can continue to work from home will do so and in-person shifts will be staggered to limit contact and help reduce facility capacity. |
All staff will perform a health self-assessment and have their temperature taken before starting their shift. |

COMMUNITY COMPACT
We are asking all members of our community to agree to our Community Compact. This document is a pledge that outlines how each of us will do our part to maintain a low-risk and positive environment for all at Chelsea Piers.
