Sky Rink has been teaching New Yorkers how to skate since 1969. It all started on the 16th floor of the building at 450 West 33d Street at 10th Avenue. For years it was the original Sky Rink, one of the few places in midtown where skaters and ice hockey players could practice their skills. In 1995, Sky Rink moved to its new home at Chelsea Piers, the new sports & entertainment complex, Chelsea Piers.  Located along the West Side Highway, Pier 61was one of the only column-free spaces in NYC.

Fast forward to 2019, Sky Rink is New York City's most popular year-round indoor ice rink, operating seven days a week, welcoming skaters of all ages and ability levels for general skating sessions, figure skating, ice hockey, league play, birthday parties, special events and more.

See how you can help us celebrate 50 years of teaching New Yorkers how to skate and how you can get involved in the coolest sport in the world!
