Acceleration Hockey Camp FAQs

Camp runs from June 21 through September 3. We know how difficult it is to coordinate summer plans, so we have packaged our camps into weekly sessions. Register on or before May 17 and receive Early Bird Pricing. Discounts are also available if you sign up for multiple weeks of the same camp. The deadline for online registration is WEDNESDAY at midnight for the upcoming camp week. If you miss that deadline, call the Camp Office at 212.336.6846 or email to register.
The midday break is a time when campers relax and meet with friends over a nourishing, well-balanced lunch. Camp lunches, which are prepared by Chelsea Piers catering partners, always include a vegetarian option. Popular items on the lunch menu include hamburgers, hot dogs, green beans, meatloaf, macaroni and cheese, vegetable medley, sliced turkey, mashed potatoes, pizza, baked ziti, chicken fingers, salad, watermelon, bagels with cream cheese or butter, assorted yogurts and cookies. Campers can choose from water and milk.
Acceleration Hockey will participate in off-ice and dry land training activities such as Top Shelf shooting and skating treadmill, plyometrics, core strength and stretching.
If your child has a daily medication that needs to be dispensed, please provide your specific Camp Director with the medication and a note that provides the instructions for dispensing the medication.
Yes, there are regular breaks for campers to fill their personal water bottles. They also receive individually wrapped snacks. Counselors ensure that campers are practicing social distancing during snack breaks at at the water stations.
Full Equipment is required for hockey camp and is not provided, campers must supply their own equipment. Campers must wear full hockey gear for all on-ice sessions including helmet with cage, shoulder pads, elbow pads, shin guards, hockey skates, gloves, hockey stick. Please wear athletic clothes for all off-ice activities such as sweatpants, shorts, t-shirt, socks and sneakers. Keep in mind that the rink may be cold, you should be prepared with an extra sweater or hoodie. Campers will be required to bring home their equipment each day.
Our After Care program is available from 4:00pm - 6:00pm. After Care campers must be picked up by no later than 6:00pm. If it is an emergency and you are running late, please call us at 212.336.6846. Campers can sign up per day or for the week. All Campers that are not picked up by 4:00pm will be automatically taken to our After Care program located in the Field House. Aftercare activities include but aren't limited to board games, arts & crafts, table games such as ping ping and other fun programs.
