What to Expect


We are committed to keeping kids safe. All operations, from check-in procedures to daily activities have been designed to deliver a safe, fun and healthy experience for our campers, staff and families. In Summer 2021 we implemented health and safety protocols based on guidance specific to the operation of summer camps from the World Health Organization (WHO), the Center for Disease Control (CDC), the American Camp Association (ACA). We successfully held summer camps for 2,500 campers following these protocols and as a result, the camp was 100% COVID-free. For 2022 we will continue to follow all guidance from the State on safe operations of camp. Chelsea Piers employees, staff and coaches are 100% fully vaccinated.

Staff Health Protocols

All camp staff and coaches are 100% vaccinated and are required to wear protective face coverings at all times. Camp staff shall also practice enhanced handwashing and health practices, including covering coughs and sneezes with a tissue or the corner of the elbow and assisting children with such increased handwashing and healthy practice throughout the camp day.

Protective Face Coverings

We will follow all guidance from the CDC on face coverings. All campers and staff must wear face coverings at all times.

Vaccination Requirements

Chelsea Piers coaches and staff are 100% vaccinated. Per Key to NYC Vaccine Mandates, all campers age 5 and over must show proof of vaccination in order to participate in camp programming.

Facility Access

Parents receive 20-minutes of free parking when checking their children into camp. Parents are not allowed to remain inside the facilities during camp.

Enhanced Disinfecting Procedures

For the safety and protection of our campers, our cleaning and maintenance protocol will continue to be maintained at the highest standard throughout the property. Our teams have increased the frequency of these processes, upgraded our supplies and disinfectants to comply with CDC guidelines and new industry standards, and increased the visibility and number of hand sanitizing stations. Chelsea Piers maintenance staff, coaches and counselors will also be responsible for wiping down and disinfecting any and all shared sports equipment between sessions throughout the day.

Camp Nurse

As we do every summer, we will have a medical office and a nurse at camp this summer. The office will be used for first aid and to dispense pre-authorized daily medications. There will be a separate sick room used for ill campers.

Sick Room

If during the camp day a child feels ill or is determined by the nurse to have an observable illness, such as constant coughing or respiratory distress, or a temperature over 100 degrees Farenheit, the child will be escorted to a designated sick room for their safety and the safety of others. As in normal circumstances, parents will be notified immediately to arrange for pick-up. A staff member will remain near the child for supervision.

Notification Requirements

Chelsea Piers will follow State and/or Board of Health requirements to support notification and contact tracing protocols.

Lunch Menu

Individual boxed lunches are provided to all Full Day campers. We are an allergy-conscious camp and do not serve any peanut products. Gluten-Free and Vegetarian Options available.


Per State guidelines, a medical form is required for each camper. Please download and complete before the first day of camp and email it to A separate form needs to be completed for each child one time for the entire summer.


At Chelsea Piers we strive to make your life easier. We partner with Selby Transportation to provide full-day campers with bus service to and from Chelsea Piers. Licensed school buses pick up and drop off campers at a wide variety of convenient locations in Manhattan and parts of Brooklyn.

This summer, bus transportation is limited to a safe number of campers per bus to maintain a safe social distance with proper face mask coverings. Limited spaces are available, register in advance!

When you register for transportation service you will receive an email about your child’s pick-up time by the Friday before he or she starts camp.

If you are registered for transportation and we are unable to offer transportation for your bus stop, we will contact you three (3) weeks prior to the start of your camp week. If you are unable to attend without transportation, we will issue you a full refund for camp and transportation tuition.

$175/WEEK or $40/DAY

Chelsea Piers offers a daily Aftercare Program at the Field House from 4:00pm - 6:00pm. Aftercare activities include board games and videos. Parents may register for one day or up to five days per week. Transportation is not available for campers in Aftercare. A late fee of $30/every half hour will be charged for pick-ups after 6:00pm.

PLEASE NOTE: Aftercare will be billed according to use and no pre-payment is required at the time of registration.
