Kim Rich is the Director of Gymnastics at Chelsea Piers.
This summer will mark her 16th year at Chelsea Piers. Her favorite part of camp is when the whole gymnastics camp comes together to compete and share the skills they have learned throughout the week. Kim believes with proper skill progression, gymnastics is a sport that has benefits for everyone regardless of age or level.
John Dwinell is the Director of Sports Academy Camp.
John works at Ethical Culture Fieldston School as the head of Physical Education. He has also coached collegiate basketball for over 30 years and went to the NCAA Division II Elite 8 in 2016. This is John’s 17th summer at Chelsea Piers.
Dan O’Brien is the Lead Hockey Instructor for Junior, Full-Day and Acceleration Ice Hockey Summer Camps.
Coach Dan O’Brien has been a professional hockey coach since 1998. He coached the “AAA” PeeWee National Champions in 2001 and coached four USA National Championship Finals. Coach Dan is dedicated to providing a fun, safe and educational environment for players of all levels.
Chance Scheffing is the Lead Instructor of Performance Golf Camp.
Chance is a Class A PGA Member Certified in Teaching and Coaching, a First Tee Certified Assistant Coach and a U.S. Kids Top 50 Certified Instructor. In 2017, he was Chelsea Piers Coach of the Year.
Franco Olguin-Bustos is the Assistant Summer Camp Director at Chelsea Piers.
Prior to his role as Assistant Camp Director in 2019, Franco spent five years as a camp counselor, soccer coach and Summer Camp intern. He is dedicated to providing a fun, friendly and safe environment for all campers.
Kimberleigh Velez is the Summer Camp Coordinator at Chelsea Piers.
Kim has been with Chelsea Piers since 2016. Prior to her role as Summer Camp Coordinator, Kim started as a Golf Camp counselor in 2016. She was promoted to the Head Counselor of Golf Camp and worked directly with the Golf Camp Director on all aspects of camp programming. In 2018, she became a camp office intern and specialized in transportation for all full-day campers.
Lindsay Ritchings is the Director of Preschool Gymnastics.
Coach Lindsay has been a part of the Chelsea Piers team since June 2017. She has degrees in both Health Education and Pre-school Education. During the school year Lindsay is the Director of the Avenues School WAM program and during the summer loves working with our Pre-schoolers at Chelsea Piers camp. Lindsay loves instilling healthy habits in children while allowing them to discover and explore.
Stephanie Hernandez is the Director of Full Day Ice Skating.
Stephanie learned how to skate at Sky Rink when she was just 10 years old. She has been a skating coach since 2011 and led the Preschool and Junior ice skating camp for six years. She enjoys sharing her love of skating with the new generation.
Freddie Moore is the Preschool & Junior Ice Skating Director.
Freddie grew up skating at Chelsea Piers! With over 20 years of figure skating experience, she coaches skaters of all ages and ability levels year-round at Sky Rink. More than anything, she loves empowering the next generation of skaters with the fun and magic of skating.
Bernard Blanda is the Director of Elite Soccer and Sports Academy Camp.
Coach Bernard has been coaching at Chelsea Piers for the past 18 years. During the school year he serves as the Director of Youth Basketball overseeing the competitive travel team program and recreational youth sports classes. Bernard is passionate about helping young athletes believe in their abilities and achieve their goals.
This is Toni’s first year as the Golf and Performance Golf Camp Director. She was a junior golfer and then pursued a professional squash career achieving a Top 20 World Ranking. Toni has vast experience developing and coaching both junior and senior level athletic programs and is the Golf Academy Director year-round at Chelsea Piers.
All coaches are trained to administer your child's medication during the day. It will be administered in a safe, clean space and the administer will sanitize is or her hands both before and after administering the medication as well as wear gloves.
