Power skating clinics specialize in creating explosiveness through the correct use of edges. Body positioning and correct technique are vital to creating a strong skater. Learning is taught through repetition until good habits are developed and then skills are mastered in different speed settings.

Spring Checking Clinics (13u-18u)

Chelsea Piers New York has got you covered with our comprehensive spring hockey clinic offerings. Our programs are designed to help players maintain and elevate their skills, ensuring they stay fresh and ready for tryouts and the next season.
Special focus is given to the correct way to both initial contacts with another player along with instructions on the proper way to be prepared to receive a body check from an opposing player. Skills include properly using body weight, angling, and player puck/separation.

Adult Gymnastics Classes

TUMBLING (ALL LEVELS): This class begins with a group warm up and stretch, followed by basic tumbling drills (such as rolls and handstands.)
The class is then split into two groups:
*BEGINNER STUDENTS:
Beginner students will be focusing on the tumbling fundamentals such as cartwheels and round offs, as well as being introduced to a variety of front and back handspring drills.
(No previous gymnastics/ tumbling experience required.)
*INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED STUDENTS:
Intermediate/advanced students must have prior tumbling experience and be able to perform a back or front handspring unassisted.
In this class students will also have the opportunity to work on flipping elements like front and back tucks as well as tumbling connections and combinations.
APPARATUS CLASS (ALL LEVELS): This class begins with a group warm up and stretch which includes basic tumbling and conditioning. Students have the opportunity to explore the different gymnastics apparatus such as rings, pommel horse, parallel bars, high bar, uneven bars, balance beam and trampoline.
TUMBLING/APPARATUS CLASS:This class begins with a group warm up and stretch. Much like the apparatus class, students have the opportunity to venture to the various apparatus in the gym as well as focusing on Floor elements and tumbling.
