During Christmas break a few years ago, while quarantined with COVID, I received a message from a former Greenwich Academy player thanking me for believing in her. She shared that being part of my team as a senior was the first time she truly felt she belonged. I received a similar note this past fall from another player who said school soccer had become the part of her day she looked forward to most.
